L’Association Jean-Jacques Laffont has been created by his wife Colette with the objective of promoting high quality education in economics, specially for students from emerging countries. It will therefore help keep alive the legacy of Jean-Jacques Laffont, who was an enthusiastic teacher and who, in the last ten years of his life, expanded much energy on the problems of developing countries.

The Association will use the funds it collect mostly to provide scholarships to students from emerging countries enrolled in the Midi-Pyrénées School of Economics doctoral program at the University of Toulouse
